10.00am to 4.00pm each day in the Spring and Autumn seasons.

Entry is $17.50 per adult, and $5.00 for children over 5 years old. Family Rate for 2 adults and 3 or more children is $40.00. EFTPOS preferred.

No. Just come and pay at the main entrance gates on the Avenue.

Take the Mount Wilson Road off Bell’s Line of Road. Follow it for approximately 5 kms to the “Mount Wilson” sign on the right, and climb the hill, turning around the zig-zag bend. Keep to the left at the top of the hill on The Avenue. The entrance gates of Breenhold are 200 metres along The Avenue on the left  and are clearly sign posted. Click here for location map.

Yes, you will be directed to park in selected areas along The Avenue.

Yes, much of Breenhold is on fairly level ground, but not paved. Some areas have stairs.

Dogs on leads welcome, but they must not be allowed to leave anything behind.

Yes, toilet & disabled toilet facilities are available for visitors.

No. The nearest railway station is Mount Victoria, some 20 minutes’ drive to Breenhold. A taxi should be arranged in advance. Coming by car is strongly advised as being the easiest.

The drive should be no more than 2 hours each way from the CBD, depending on traffic conditions.

No, but you can bring picnics to Breenhold. No barbeques are permitted.

Breenhold comprises over 40 hectares of heritage listed gardens and parklands. It is one of the largest privately owned and extensive garden estates in Australia. It would be easy to spend most of the day exploring the property – or just for an hour or two.

Yes, pre-wedding and other photo-shoots at Breenhold are very popular. Please refer to the Photography page.

Yes, coach tours are welcome. The Gardens can be made available for large functions, conferences, concerts, or special admissions at any time of the year, by special arrangements.

  • Please refrain from standing or staying under large trees as, despite all our precautions, branches can unexpectedly fall and hurt anyone underneath, particularly during windy weather.
  • There are snakes from time to time on the property, particularly during the hotter months. It is important to be mindful of this and watch where you walk.
  • Please take all rubbish with you when you leave
  • Please do not pick flowers or fruit on the property.
  • Please keep children under your watchful care at all times – for their safety.
